What We're Up To

Current Situation in regards to the COVID-19 Corona Virus Outbreak

Due to this current situation regarding the COVID-19 Corona Virus outbreak, and acting on advice as issued by the Government, we the committee, have made the decision that the safest and best option is to close The Newport Club during this time. Therefor as of this evening, Friday 20th March, the Club will be closed for the foreseeable future and until such times as we have been advised by the Government that it is safe to reopen. Currently we do not have a timescale for this, but we will strive to keep you all informed over this period of time, as to what is happening.

Our advice and that of the Government is to not use the Club but should you wish to do so, (for a game of snooker) this is at your own risk and you are asked to strictly adhere to the current Health & Hygiene advice of cleanliness and sanitisation. Please be considerate and wash your hands thoroughly upon entering the Club premises.

This also has a huge impact on our forthcoming schedule of events that we had arranged. All these events are now unfortunately cancelled or will be postponed to a later date once this closure is over.

Should any of the members feel that they would not like to venture out into the community during this time, but may require some errands or essentials, then please feel free to get in touch with the committee and we will endeavour to help out any way we can, or get in touch with another member that may be able to help.

We will continue to provide you with updates every few weeks, which Alan Wallace our current Secretary will send out to all members.

On a slight positive note, the PDC will not be able to meet in person for the event within the club, but the draw will continue to take place, so therefore there will be some good new for someone when we draw the number on 25th April. The result will be emailed out to all members on this date.
